happy halloween!

Halloween was pretty mellow around these parts. We went to a pumpkin patch--a LEGIT pumpkin patch--where you ride a tractor-pulled whatchamcallit to the fields, find a punkin and have the nice, jolly overalled-man pull out his machete and cut you a fresh 'un. It was a down home country experience, ya'll.

Of course on Halloween we had lots of shtuff for the trick-or-treaters. All five of them. Honestly, our bad luck streak with slim pickin's of trick or treaters is getting old. Scott seriously considered workin the street corner for awhile just to draw some crowds. But when the fish nets went on, i forbad it :) That's a joke. Scott only dresses in drag on Saturdays. It wouldn't make sense. haha. That's another joke.

Tangent: Scott sees all that I post. He usually just shakes his head and says "Wow." So to clear the air: Scott is very manly. He has never dressed in drag. He was, however, his high school's secret superhero. The man wore tights and all, running around the gym during pep rallies. And that is no joke.

Jacob was a Tigger! And a mighty cute one at that. Everybody at the pumpkin patch complimented us on such a fabulous baby. He's the best arm candy a mother could have. And as usual, he was an angel for the entire excursion into the country. We love this kid so stinkin' much! Each day I find him giving me a different look. An older look. And it breaks my heart a little. Where did my newborn go???

He was average sized at birth, but now is large and in charge. At our last pediatrician visit he was in the 90th percentile for height and weight. The nurses kept saying, "Wo! He's just a chunker boy!" I loved that. It's my new nickname for this tall drink o' water of mine: Chunker Boy. But really he is just so tall! 27 inches to be exact. He's perfect in every way and Mommy and Daddy's best buddy.

Halloween was truly fun with him. Though we didn't do much except stay home, carve our pumpkin, watch scary movies and feed him rice cereal, it was a perfect family night--cuddled on the couch. Just us three. Our first All Hallow's Eve as a family.

Happy Halloween!
