Jacob and I escaped to California about a month ago and while there got to meet up with some super-duper friends with some fabulously fun talents :) Brittany Webster is a whiz at creating events and getting people involved. She is the master planner. For example, she planned a three week Nutrition class with speakers, taste testers, etc. I was lucky to be able to attend one of them and learn a little more about green smoothies and organic foods. Brittany's dad, Bro. Patterson, is right. Those green smoothies do not taste like a Wendy's Frosty, sadly. But being what they are--pureed vegetables--it wasn't bad.
In fact, I have been so proud of myself! I have had a green smoothie for breakfast, every day, for almost two weeks now. Its a small step to healthier eating. But an important step! I mean, I hate carrots. Hate being the key word in that sentence. Or as the Grinch would say, "Loathe entirely!" But...I have been adding those to the smoothies and feel confident that soon my eyes will sparkle, just as my mom always said they would if I ate all my carrots.
I guess I gotta keep up a good example for Jacob, cuz I want those baby blues of his to shine like the top of the Chrysler Building!
Speaking of that movie reference, Jacob got to meet Annie! And Jayda! And Luke! Yay for buddies!
Thanks Brittany for your healthy-living example! And for all your hard work putting the classes together! And Lora Knight...photographer extraordinaire...see you soon! :) And Brittney Boucha--mother of the year--keep on keeping on!
