happy + birthday: Machu Picchu

Matthew!!! He also had his birthday yesterday on July 7th. Look at this stud! I purchased a bat long ago to keep the girls off of him. Though he assures me he doesn't like girls, I know they like him. How could they not? I better get to a batting cage soon to get some practice in.

• Matthew is Machu Picchu. Why? I have no idea. I think Donald may have started that nickname. So, Donald, why?
• Matthew was a big, chubby baby. I LOVED it. I was in Provo with my family visiting when he was just barely born. I remember sitting in Brad and Mandy's townhouse watching Mandy change him. Then I got to hold him and I was so excited! He was so soft and yummy smelling and looked just like Uncle Brad. He was just so darn cuddly!
• Matthew loved, and still does I'm sure, all things SUPERHERO! He used to run around making punching and flying noises wearing his reversible Batman/Superman cape. Anything you wanted to know about bad guys or super heros, Matthew was your little man. 
• Matthew is all grown-up. *sniff sniff. tear.* Where's the little kid I described above? Now he's stud-muffin football player, basketball player, swimmer. Which is equally cool I guess. I just miss all the sound effects. He is looking more and more like a youth, before we know it he'll be in Young Men's, then dating!!! ah! 
• Matthew is a terrific athlete. He succeeds in every sport he plays. I covet his tan skin and blonde hair. He's very active and takes in the sun like a plant. 
• Matthew has the most delicious dimples. Look at them. So kissable. When he was younger I used to kiss them all the time. I think he's getting too old enough for that now, sadly. I don't want to be the crazy older cousin that pinches his cheeks and cackles. He'll hate me, haha. So I gotta keep my cool every time I see him smile and resist the urge.
• Matthew is such a good older brother. He is so mature, kind, helpful and a wonderful example to his younger siblings. He wants to choose the right and follow the gospel. He always wants to do good and I am so proud of him! I can't wait to see where he goes on a mission. I know he will be so awesome!
• Matthew is the all-time Uno Champion. His skills scare me. Because I don't like to lose. I remember Grandpa calling into the kitchen, "This kid can't lose! He's beating me every time!" haha. Matthew loved that.

Matthew is just a cool, easy-going, sweet guy. Thanks for indulging me when I can't control my urge to kiss your dimples, Matthew. I just love your stinkin' guts! I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday and know how much I love you! Happy Birthday Machu Picchu!!
