christmas 2010

Well, Scott and I celebrated our third Christmas together--just us. Though we miss our families, its fun and special to just celebrate with and focus on my best friend! We prepared and baked our homemade honey-baked ham together, mixed the cheese potatoes together, went to the Walk-In doctor together (Scott now has the sickness), did some last minute shopping together, cleaned together, watched "A Christmas Story" together, read in Luke 2 together and cuddled as we waited for Santa together!

Christmas morning was fun and surprising as we opened gifts, listened to Christmas music and made our traditional crepes with strawberries. We videotaped the whole thing. As I watched it today I laughed and laughed at how cheesy we are! We're so weird and goofy and hopefully our children will think we're funny and not totally embarrassing.

This was our last Christmas, just Scott and I. We cherished the time alone, but were even more excited as we talked about what it will be like to have Christmas with our baby next year. So crazy! I can hardly wait.

The day was even more special when my phone rang and the caller ID read: "Bowling Green, Kentucky." I was confused at first, then quickly answered as I realized it was my brother Spencer!!!! He is serving in the Nashville, Tennessee Mission but is assigned to an area in Kentucky right now. We were so excited to hear his voice and listen to his stories. He is a wonderful missionary and is loving his mission.

We were truly blessed this Christmas and are so thankful for family and friends.
