before the bambino went to bed, i had to give him his valentine's day present (the lady and the tramp.) i just couldn't wait. i was going to wait until tonight to give it to my boyfriends so we could watch it and eat spaghetti. i had little daydreams for the past couple of days of scott pushing a meatball across my plate with his nose. ahh. so romantic. i told scott he was my tramp.
but he gave me something better than a meatball. with the baby asleep, he sat on the kitchen countertop and helped me frost 3 dozen cookies. he put on our songs and just sat there listening to me ramble about this and that. he dripped frosting everywhere as he tried to pick up the frosting with a knife. he gave me little kisses. he put frosting on my cheek. he snuggled with me on the couch and watched a movie. he held me close as we fell asleep.
such small things. but such sweet little nothings they were. more than being told i was loved. i felt loved. oh so loved. he is one of the most tender-hearted persons i have ever known. so kind and giving and understanding.
valentine's morning, jake and i gave him our homemade cards. as scott got ready for work i noticed little, purple hearts taped around the house.
on the dishwasher one read: thank you for being so kind to do the dishes.
on the stove: thank you for the yummy foods you make me.
on jake's crib: thank you for being the perfect mommy.
on the mirror: thank you for being so beautiful.
he's quite the charmer. and sealed the romanticism with a card and a 100 Grand candy bar. (perfection) he isn't perfect, but he is completely perfect for me, and i feel so blessed that he married me!
the last heart read: thank you for being so soft and "lady" like. see! he is my tramp!
