My hubby is a WINNER. Every year, Verizon holds a Winner's Circle weekend for their employees. Only 20 people made it in the entire region, and my hubby was one of them! To go, he had to meet 125% of his sales goals. Scott is such a hard-worker and I was proud of him. He deserved some recognition and some R&R. Wednesday night we drove down to SLC, ate at In-N-Out with Steve and Jen (hallelujah!), and then stayed the night with the Bensons. We appreciate you so much Bensons!
Thursday morning we flew to Denver. Picked up our hot and schnazzy rental car--a minivan. Drove to Boulder and arrived at our fabulous hotel--The St. Julien. It was so much fun to see it. I loooooove hotels. I don't know why. Maybe because you're stepping out of your life for a second and someone else has to make your bed. I've never stayed in a hotel quite like this one. Everything was contemporary and spa-like. It was a four star hotel and it definitely showed. Fresh, white orchids were everywhere! The scent was intoxicating. We had a four-poster bed with dazzling artwork and a slate-tiled bathroom. It was so fun. Hubby and I were just itching to put on our St. Julien robes and slippers and order some room-service!
We ate some lunch at Chipotle and perused through the shops on Pearl Street with Trevor and Bri. The highlight for Scott was stopping at Tesla and drooling over the cars.
That night was the awards banquet. We got all dressed up and Scott looked very handsome in his new gray suit and skinny black tie. There were some pictures then schmoozing and "drinking" in the lounge. Each person was given two drink cards for the bar. Everyone was drinking alcohol it seemed. Hubby and I waited in line for something to drink and I wondered if they would even have water. They did, but we got Shirley Temples instead! haha. It makes me laugh to think about us walking around sipping our Shirley Temples. So innocent and proud to be so!
The dinner was in the ballroom, more flowers, candles, and decor. A stage was set up to present the awards and hold the live band. I was so proud of Scott when his name was called and received his award! He is so deserving of it. He works so hard for us while going to school full-time. I am so blessed to call him my husband. After the awards and some decadent dessert, the band started. They were kind of a Black Eyed Peas look-a-like band and very good. Of course, all the people that had been drinking were on the dance floor in a heartbeat making fools of themselves. Scott preferred to not dance. :) But when "My Girl" was performed he led me to the floor and it was so precious. :) My hubby is a good dancer but he gets a little embarrassed.
We went up to our room after that and put on our robes and ordered room service! Love that room service!
I kept thinking to myself, "Soak it in Cristine. Once you have kids, these quiet, alone moments will be gone for quite awhile."
Friday, we ate breakfast and Scott left for snowmobiling. I got us packed and headed down Pearl Street towards the greatest place in the world--The Sensorielle Spa. ahhhhhhh. It was my first time getting a massage and I swear it will not be my last. I'm hooked. I got a Holistic Massage with Hot Stones. At first, I was a little anxious about the whole "dress" protocol--meaning naked. But it was no big deal actually. I was picturing a hard leather massage table where I'd be covered by a single sheet. No, no, no. It was a plush and soft bed that reclined and I was covered by the most awesome sheets and comfy comforter. Above me all these draped linens and fabrics hung like a canopy. I felt like a Moroccan Princess. My massage therapist/guru, Meredith, dimmed the lights down low, had the music playing, had me pick a tarot card (haha), offered me tea (which I had to refuse politely) scrubbed my feet and face with rosewood, lotion-ed me up with orange-ylang ylang (my favorite!), ran the hot stones down my back, and would softly hit the gong every once in a while-- it was heavenly. I was never uncomfortable for a second. It was amazing!
Let me tell you, an hour and fifteen minutes flies by when you're that relaxed. Meredith stepped out of the room while I changed. I felt soooooo soft and creamy and dreamy. Scott had told me before that I'd be super tired. I didn't feel tired, just so relaxed--At one with nature. :) But when I got up, that was a different story. I was so drained. Relaxed to the point of weakness. haha. It took me a few minutes to move my legs. And boy was I sore later.
I shopped the rest of the day. (Real hard, I know.)
Then I met up with Scott and Trevor and Bri and we headed back to the airport. It was a quick but oh so enjoyable trip! Thank you hubby for your hard work!

Oh my FUN getaway!!! Congrats to Scott & Yea that you got to go too. I love hotels too - I am so jealous of the massage - i haven't had one in a couples years and I am going through withdrawals. Kids are SOO fun, but it looks so nice to get away and enjoy some alone time with just the two of y'all. Looks like y'al soaked it in ;)
