happy + birthday: SCOTT

Yesterday was my favorite person's birthday! He turned 27! So old, haha, almost to 30. Yikes.

• Scott has a voracious appetite for life! And turkey legs. He is always eager to try new things and be "out there" in the mix of things. He is a man of many talents and hobbies: golf, soccer, guitar, fishing, snowboarding, video games (of course), boogie boarding, and so much more. When he sets his mind to something, he achieves it. 
• Scott loves animals. He should have been a veterenarian because he loves to pet critters and snuggle them. Dog, moose, cat, whatever, he's fasinated by them. (When we were engaged we went on the hike-from-h-e-l-l and ran into a baby moose. It was probably one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. But what does Scott want to do? Pet it. Take pictures. Risk our lives. I was not about to be impaled by a crazed mother moose and so pried Scott away.) 
• Scott got a kitty! He's been begging me for a pet since we got married, but I'm just not an animal lover. But it was what he wanted for his birthday and Scott works so hard for us, I couldn't say no. So we now have an 11 week old kitty that we named Kobe Bryant. Scott loves him, plays with him, snuggles him, cleans him, etc. He promises me this is good practice for when we have a baby. I have never been, and never will be, a person who comapres pets to children. That's crazy-nonsense talk to me, but it is cute to see how happy a little kitty makes Scott and how responsible Scott is taking care of him.
• Scott is a good brother-in-law. He loves my siblings and they get along so well. I think it is fun for my brother and sisters to have an older brother. The other day I was talking to my sister Brittany when she said, "Someone is calling me. It's Scott!" So she hung up on me and talked to Scott. haha. He had just called to chat and make sure she was safe after she had a weird car situation. I love that. He checks up on them and is the perfect protective older brother. He is a great example to my brother Spencer to serve a full-time mission. He jokes with Lina and they all love each other. 
• Scott is such a hard worker. I say that about him all the time, but its because he truly is. He never ceases to amaze me. He wins award after award for his performance. He's just been nominated out of the entire district for an award given by the District Manager. He gains recognition constantly because he works hard and it shows, he picks up other peoples' slack, he's professional and ethical, he is always finding ways to be more well-rounded. I love him for his dedication and committment :)
• Scott is MY HUSBAND! Obvious, but sometimes I still feel blown away that he is mine and chose me. Daily, I pray to deserve him and treat him with as much kindness as he shows me. He is so sweet and loving. He always builds me up, encourages me, and compliments me. Like this morning for instance, my hair was curly, frizzy, crazy, I had mascara under my eyes, morning breath, etc, the "ugly works", but he kissed my head and told me that I am always so beautiful in the mornings. I think he's crazy. But I still love it. He is so sweet and I know our kids will be the same way :)
