I find myself seething. boiling. full of rage for the heinous act committed against three innocent, selfless, young missionaries of the Lord. I cried when I read it on a friend's facebook. All I could think was, "Why?" Why would someone choose to steer their car toward three young mean on their bikes, hit them, kill and injure them, and not stop? To keep going. I'm so angry I want to to scream. But I just cry.
And all I can do is pray that the Lord will keep my brother safe from harm. That all the missionaries throughout the world are protected from evil.
Like prophets and apostles of old, like Paul or Stephen, like Abinadi, like Hyrum, even like Joseph Smith, they were killed in the service of their God. They sealed their testimonies with their blood.
And though I'm so mad I can't stand it, the gratitude I have in my heart for the Gospel of Jesus Christ is overwhelming. I KNOW THE TRUTH. I KNOW GOD LIVES. I KNOW THE BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE. I KNOW FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER. I AM SO BLESSED.
It's a travesty what has happened, but my testimony of Christ, of His church: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is anything but disheartened. I want to share the gospel now with more fervor than ever before. Because the examples of all missionaries, is faith-bolstering, testimony-strengthening, whether they return home to their families here on earth or to their Father in Heaven.
I pray that the families and loved ones of Trevor Reinhold Strong, 21, of Taylorsville, Utah, and Derek Jason Walker, 20, of Fairfield, Idaho are comforted and that Zachary Todd Harris, 19, of Huntsville, Alabama continues to recover without complications.
And that my own precious brother is blessed each and every day as he serves the Lord.
“The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done” (History of the Church, 4:540).

Isn't this awful? One of my best friends was on his mission there and he had to come home temporarily last week for some family issues but Elder Strong was one of his best friends out on the mission.
he is soooo cute it sounds like Parker and him are the same size and he is 6 months old. Wow he must be off the charts for height and weight. Hope you all have a great holiday!
