my baby loves to be swaddled

not the one in my belly. the one that sleeps next to me at night and steals all the covers. the one that twists and rolls and smacks his lips and jabbers in his sleep until he's practically mummified himself.  the one that i have to use the gaping jaws of life to move over so i can steal just a corner of our California King sized quilt. i'm baffled that i haven't ripped it yet. i suspect black magic. seriously, the man baby's got skills. i don't know how he gets himself wrapped up so tight at night. sometimes, when i'm particularly ticked that i wake up freezing with not but a sheet to cover me, i kick him. in the back. or the leg. its childish. and i feel bad in the morning. but it usually gives me enough time to take advantage of his weakened death grip on our quilt. if i had to apply for a job tomorrow, i think that would be listed as my number one skill: man baby un-swaddler. i get lots of practice.

the upside is that hubby will be a great baby swaddler. we took a baby care class at the hospital and hubby swaddled the pants off that plastic baby. he's a pro. he took on the challenge with ferocity and swaddled that baby over and over and over. and then one more time. the man appreciates a good swaddle and wants baby G to have the same experience that he enjoys every night as a human burrito. oh man, what i would do for a del taco burrito right now.

When I first saw this title, I was totally freaked with the thought that you had your baby and your first post about it was going to be about swaddling.
To say the least, I would have been displeased. Thank goodness I'm now relieved (haha).
Anyways, you make me laugh. My life's ambition is to become as funny as you someday. By the way, yeah my date was great. Random, but great.
