family + funnies: Riding in Cars with Boys

My husband says some of the funniest things sometimes. I love it! I should make a movie: "Out of the Mouths of Husbands."

Last night, we were driving to Garcia's to go out to dinner. It was dark already, about 7:30 pm. I'm in the passenger seat just staring ahead when Scott exclaims,

"Joe Cool over here, wearing his sunglasses at night."

"What?" I'm totally confused.

"That guy on the sidewalk back there. What a creeper."

Haha. Where did he come up with that? "Joe Cool." Later that night, we were flipping between the Lakers and Men's Figure Skating. (I'm actually shocked that Scott was watching the ice skating with me, let alone the Men's.) Most of the guys' outfits were not feminine (as un-feminine as you can get in ice skating). But then they announced Johnny Weir. His outfit was very feminine--low cut, sparkly swirls everywhere and feathers. So I voice this observation and Scott says,

"Of course. He's the Edward Scissorhands of ice skating."

???? I swear. The opinions of my man are just so baffling. I laughed on and off for a good hour. He definitely fills my life with joy and laughter and surprise!
