Pillow Talk
Hubby is scared of two things: spiders and zombies.
Last night, as we drifted to sleep. Hubby told me about his newest video game: Left 4 Dead. Apparently, if you lose, the zombies come and eat you.
"It scared me," he said. "I played it alone and in the dark."
"Zombies aren't real, Scott," I say as comfortingly as possible.
"They could be! What about the Second Coming?!"
???
This leads to Hubby's theory that at the Second Coming, when the dead rise from their graves, they could turn into flesh-eating zombies designed as another plague to separate the wicked from the righteous. I reassured Hubby that I doubted Heavenly Father would ever use zombies.
He wasn't too comforted, but told me he loved me enough to kill me if I ever turned into a zombie. Thanks, babe.

Oh the Craftiness of Me...
Voila

Centsational Girl gave me the idea. Man I love that blog. It was a fun project, but spray painting is definitely not as easy as it sounds. I got some crazy drips and my fingers were cramping. No bueno.
Censational Girl says to always check thrift stores. That's pretty much all I did Saturday. I found the table at the Idaho Youth Ranch for $20. Not bad huh? I think I'm forming a habit. All I think about is going back to thrift stores to see if anything "new" came in. haha.
I also made the jewelry frame that she showed on her blog and it turned out just adorable. I am using it as one of the projects for our ward's Super Saturday in October.
More projects to come I'm sure...

Island Park & Yellowstone
I don't know why, but we seem to be blessed with some great friends...and they happen to be great friends with awesome connections!
Calvin and Amber invited us to come stay at Amber's Uncle's cabin in Island Park.
And by cabin I mean MANSION. It was gorgeous. Thanks guys!
We had fun roasting 'mallows outside and chomping down on smores. Most of the time I watched the sky.
I have never seen a shooting star.
And boy was I determined to see one. It blows my mind how many stars there are. But, of course, every time I turned my head to another part of the sky, one would shoot across and someone would say, "Oh, you just missed one." Frustrating. So I focused on one part of the sky for probably about 15 minutes and then it happened! It shot from the top of the sky down for a long time. It was awesome, and I was so proud of myself for being patient and ignoring the crick in my neck.
Scott didn't see it, so he teases that I probably just saw an airplane or bug. But it was definitely a star.
The next morning, we got up and headed to Yellowstone.
Scott has never been to Yellowstone.
It was definitely a vacation of firsts. It was fun to show him Old Faithful, Painter's Pot, the mud pots, geisers and of course those crazy-ugly-hairy bison and majestic elk.
It was a gorgeous drive and everyone was exhausted later.
Thanks Calvin and Amber for a fun trip! We are so lucky to have you as friends!

Labor Day Fun and Some Goodbye Tears
I now have TWO siblings here with me in Idaho! It is the most wonderful feeling to have family close by and know that you can go see them whenever you feel like it.
My family came Saturday and it was so fun to show Spencer around BYU-Idaho's campus. The school has been going through a ton of construction and renovation and it looks awesome. The new cafeteria is AMAZING!
Seriously, I was jealous. It was kinda ghetto when Bert and I ate there, and now it's this real chic, huge and modern space. I told Spencer I'm going to come and eat lunch with him. :)
He is very excited to start school and his excitement made me kinda wish that I was going back to school too! Maybe it's the nerd in me, but I think it's fun to get your books and supplies and get dressed in your new "first day of school" outfit.
BYU-Idaho was such a great school and I feel so blessed to have received my degree in such a wholesome and gospel-oriented environment.
I don't think my mom was as excited for Spencer to start school as I was though. Her third baby has left the nest. She's excited for him in this new chapter of his life but wishes she could still hug him every day. There were a few tears as she said goodbye to us but I'm proud of her for keeping it together.
After the goodbyes, Scott, Bert, Spencer, his friend/roommate Eric and I went to the
EAST IDAHO STATE FAIR!
It's always a good time and the epitome of Idaho livin', so it was the perfect icebreaker for Spencer.
Bert found a cow that shares her name: Brittany.
She felt bad for this mini-horse. He looked so ghetto and lonely.
This goat slobbered all over Scott's hands. ew.
The goats and their "bodily functions" were the humor highlights of the day.
Bert rode the mechanical bull! She did pretty good despite the controller's efforts to buck her off. He had her spinning in circles for about 15 seconds. Bert screamed the whole time.
The trip to the Fair wouldn't be complete without sinking our teeth into some corn.
Scott waits for this all year long.
And he talks about it all year long.
But I agree, it's finger lickin' good.
"Boots, chaps and cowboy hats…. nothing else matters."
And I would add...
TURKEY LEGS
tiger ears
teryaki bowls
raspberry lemonade
cheeseburgers
french fries
tortatoes
caramel apples
CORN
...nothing else matters.

Sneaky Satan...
Doesn't it seem like every time you plan to go to a temple session, that something happens that prevents you from going?
Take just a few moments ago... I'm all ready getting my things together when the thought comes, "Am I sure my temple recommend is in my wallet? Or did I put it in my temple bag last time? hmmm." Sure enough, it's in neither place. I pace the whole apartment trying to rack my brain for possible spots it may be and nothing. It's not on my bedside table, not in my stack of bills and papers, not in my purse, not in the fridge, nowhere.
I swear Satan likes to move my temple recommend around because it seems like I am always searching for it, and then I always find it where it was supposed to be. He likes toying with me I guess. Someone needs to invent a recommend beeper like people have for their keys.
So now I'm kinda in a bummer of a mood. No temple for me today I guess.
