Pumpkin Patch...well, Barn!

Last Saturday night, Scott and I met in Idaho Falls after work and went to get ice cream at Reed's Dairy (classic...thought it stinks to high heaven) and then went to a Pumpkin Patch!

The pumpkin patch was actually a pumpkin barn. It was so cute. It was big and red, had lots of straw and scarecrows, and a few puppies running around. (Scott almost cried when he saw the puppies. He wants one so bad. All of you who know me already know my answer: NO.)

It was so quaint and cute. Loved it. All I needed was a cup of hot cider and it would have been perfect. After our little escapade, we went to see our long-lost friends the Horchs. We had a wonderful discussion on politics on then we were on our way! It was a wonderful, quirky night.

High School Musical: Senior Year!

Before all of you laugh at me, just remember that you all secretly love it too.

Now...
It was amazing. Seriously, so good. Brittany and I were giggling the whole time. I loved the dancing (much improved I might add), the songs (though cheesy), and the humor. It was awesome. I didn't want it to end, and Brittany and I considered just staying in the theatre and watching it again.

Spiders...yuck

Oh my goodness do I have a story.

Last Thursday I was at work. I was in the press room with Melissa, my co-worker, as she pressed dresses and I bustled them. So I was going down the rack of dresses that needed to go for the next week. One of the dresses was out of its bag. Someone had taken it out and put the train down to look at the hem, because the bride had worn it for bridal pictures and the hem was pretty dirty. She had taken pictures in a field or something. When a dress comes in like that we can't press it on our ironing board and it has to be steamed.

So, I pick up the train off the floor to check the bustle and as I'm getting the layers of tulle together I see something black and big moving in the layers. One look and I knew. I dropped the train and screamed. (I'm such a scaredy-cat.) It was a hobo spider!!!!!!

Hobos are huge! nasty! thick! fast! yuck yuck yuck. I'm cringing right now just thinking about it. Margene killed it outside. She's brave. (and for all of you wondering, yes, we cleaned the dress.) We think either the spider came in with the dress because it was worn in a field for pictures (yuck) or it just crawled in that morning. I hate them so much.

I had to kill one in our very first apartment here in Rexburg. I kid you not, It was about three inches big. Scott is scared of spiders too, but he made me kill it! I was balling as I held Scott's church shoe and prepared to strike. Terrifying. So I whack it and run into the other room because I always think that the spider is going to come after me.

Scott pushes me back out to make sure it's dead. (real nice huh?) It's laying there all shriveled. I nudge it with the shoe and it SPRINGS to life and literally runs under the couch. I was screaming bloody murder it was so scary. #1 it was alive, #2 i had to kill it, again, and #3 i did'nt want to lose it and have it crawling on me at night. it makes me gag just thinking about it.

But i finally killed it amidst by sobs and screams and made Scott clean it up. It was so traumatizing.

Wake me up when it's time to graduate...

Well...what a week!

Midterms are finally winding down and I'm pooped! So many things seem to go on all at once. It drives me crazy. Where am I supposed to find the time to go to school, work, do my calling, clean, do homework, and have some down time?

I am sure everyone had a rough time this past week or so.

I had to have 13 books read and reported on for my YA lit class and a rationale report.
A crazy, time-consuming advertising portfolio
An inspirational poster comp for visual media
Numerous rough drafts for my weird Senior Seminar English class

Plus, Scott was out of town for the whole past week for a training seminar in Montana. Our computer pretty much wigged out and I lost all my files, pictures, etc. (I'm trying not to dwell on it.) Our bank was being dumb and annoying. Scott had his birthday on Friday, but we haven't been able to really celebrate it yet because we're so busy. Today I was in the library, in the same chair working in InDesign from 9 am to 3 pm. And all I had to eat until 6:30pm when I got out of advertising was a donut.

Yeah. I know I'm complaining but I gotta let it out.

Anyways...life should be getting better.

A ton of friends just had babies. Kadie and Ryan had their baby! Little Kaleb. I haven't seen him yet, but I'm dying. The Mabes, Weeks, and a couple other couples in the ward all had babies. Babies, babies, babies. I want one, too!

To end this random post, I'll leave with a random quote.

My visual media teacher is so funny. Everything he says is just so cute. We were talking about the necessity of white space in design. He said that everyone needs white space in their lives:

"Sunday is the white space of our week."

Love him. Love his quotes. Love you all.

Halloween is Coming!

I was looking at Alex's blog the other day, and I totally agree that Autumn is the best. I love warm, snuggly clothes, rain, lightning and thunder, and curling up to read a book or watch a movie.

It's especially pretty here in Idaho as the leaves change colors and the wind rustles them around on the ground. I love it! I always try to park on South 2nd East when I go to school because the trees are gorgeous that line the street.

Ever since a month ago, I have been just CRAVING to carve a pumpkin. I think a pumpkin patch just opened and so I'm excited to go pick one out.

I decorated for Halloween and my mom sent me the cutest pumpkin ballerina. She's holding a candy cane. Love her.

I'm not sure what Scott and I will be for Halloween or if the Spanish Branch is going to have a party, we'll see.

I'm bummed a little this week because it's Mother's Week, and my mom threw her back out and wasn't able to come. I'm not gonna lie; I've cried a little. I wish I was home right now to see all my mom's cute Halloween decorations. She always transforms our house around the holidays and I love it.

Oh I wish I was little again and got to dress up and go trick or treating without a care in the world. Oh goodness me.
