Happy Tagging!

My sister in law Mandy tagged me. So...I have never been tagged before, and I have a really hard time coming up with random facts about myself. But here it goes:

1. Just thinking about needles and giving blood makes the creases at my elbows hurt. I cringe up and get queasy. (I know it's pathetic.) Brittany. Collette, and Lora liked to torture me about this when we lived together. They would put ketchup on their arms and pretend to draw blood. Thanks guys for scarring me for life. :)

2. Sometimes I dream about Edward Cullen. In our last little escapade, Edward and I went to a basketball game. I was getting angry because random people wouldn't let me sit by him. :)

3. I love to read. I am taking a Young Adult Literature class and am really enjoying all of the crazy and new books I get to read.

4. My family calls me deenie, deeniebopper, or pumpkin head.

5. When I was younger I dressed up in my great grandmother's white lace dress, put my hair up and pretended to be Diana Berry from Anne of Green Gables. My mom took pictures. :)

6. Scott and I have been called as stake missionaries to the Archer Spanish Branch! No Ingles, solamente espanol.

I tag...Brittany Webster, Brittany Boucha, Alex Brown, Celeste Weimer, Lora Knight, and Molly Schilhabel. Happy Tagging!

Mog Time

So it's been a few days since some testosterone hit this blog. Some things have changed since I last wrote. I was offered a job by Alltel to do some retail sales. The job pays great, awesome benefits, free cell phone service, but there is always a catch. The location that I will work at is about a 45-60 min drive from where we live and that is under good weather conditions. Once we move to Idaho Falls in December, it will be about a 20-25 min drive which isn't too bad. So I will just have to survive these next couple of months and pay out the ear in gas money. Also Cristine and I switched Internet providers to a company called BridgeMaxx. The service is slow and many times shotty since it is a DSL connection. Good thing it is on a month by month basis, so we may be shopping around for a different one come the end of the month. Good thing there are so many options to choose from when it comes to high-speed Internet in Rexburg, ID. On a non-nerd note, Cristine and I are still making plans for Thanksgiving. We were thinking Colorado but I think my sister Holly and her family are coming to Utah so we may be spending it in Utah with my sister Nikkie and her family. I also just found out that my mom is going to Colorado right around Halloween, but we don't know if we will be able to make it down for that on such short notice. We still have not been to my sister Holly's house to see what things look like in CO. The weather up here is getting more brisk as the days go by and the daylight is escaping earlier and earlier every day. I am getting super pumped because that means snowboarding season is right around the corner. I only went a few times last season but instantly fell in love. I am rockin a Tech 9 board with Burton Mission bindings. My goal for this season is to be able to a 360 off a jump and do rails. I also want to attempt a back flip is there is plenty of pow-pow. Cristine and I are super pumped for The Office to start up again later on this month. Cristine wants to do a welcome back party for the show when the season premier hits so everyone who reads this is officially invited! Well that is all for now. Maybe I'll write again in another year or so. Chio!

Our Friend Dirk

Our friend Dirk passed away this past week.
He has been struggling with cancer for the past few years.
He, and his wife Nicole, are good friends of Scott's sister and brother-in law.
I owe a thanks to Dirk for helping Scott to see that he was dating the wrong girls :)
I'll always remember when I first met him. He was very personable and seemed to be quizzing me to se if I was right for Scott. I'm glad he sanctioned our engagement:)
Dirk was a wonderful and fun person. Our hearts go out to his wife and daughter.
We love you Dirk.

Labor Day at the East Idaho State Fair

For Labor Day, Scott and I played tennis and went to lunch with our friends the Weimers. They kicked our trash, but we had lots of fun.
Later, we all went to the Fair down in Blackfoot. It was raining and cold, but it was fun to finally wear a sweatshirt. I feel like Halloween is just right around the corner, and I have the irresistable urge to carve a pumpkin! Blake, Celeste, Scott and I looked at all the cows, horses, goats, lambs, etc. Blake was kind enough to explain the difference between hay and straw for me.

After walking by most of the tents and stopping at the hypnotist stage we went in search of the Fair's infamous corn on the cob. It was sooo delicious with all that butter and salt. We went crazy and ate a ton. The four of us shared a Tortatoes basket. They were potatoes cut in a certain way so that they resembled a tornado (hence the name tortatoes). Scott and I had a huge turkey leg, the Weimer's had dutch oven food, I had a pretzel, and we all got a huge funnel cake with cream and strawberries and powdered sugar. Later, the Weimers had ice cream, and we snacked on some kettle corn.

After the food, we walked around some more trying to spot mullets, watched people ride the mechanical bull, and perused all the photography, crafts and agriculture.

This pumpkin was over 700 pounds! That's crazy. All in all, it was a great day.
