Tuesdays Tell All: Sight

A sister in my ward, Meme Dalling, just recently lost her baby. She was about 5 months along and went into early labor. He lived for about two hours. But for those precious moments she and her husband were able to hold him and look at him. He held her finger and they were able to get a picture together as a family in the hospital room.

There was a picture at his graveside service. (I don;t have a copy sadly.) My relief society president, Jelinda, said that it was the most beautiful picture she had ever seen. The Dallings were holding him up between them and staring at him. The baby was illuminated by the bright, white lights in the hospital room.

What a comfort this picture must be to the Dallings. They have little to remember him by except for this picture that captured the love and despair that must have engulfed the Dallings. What a blessing this picture will be for them throughout the rest of their lives.

I didn't mean to make this entry sad but trials like these really make you count your blessings. That picture was a tender mercy from the Lord.

I know I see the tender mercies of the Lord daily in my life, but I rarely acknowldege them. This is my goal for the next week: to recognize and see the Lord's hand in my life.

I found your blog through Brittany and I was really excited!

That is so sad about their little baby. I had a miscarriage when my baby was 3 1/2 months along and it was the saddest experience i've ever had. I'm so glad that they were able to get a picture with their little baby.
